In this episode, we traveled from Deqing, Zhejiang to Hangzhou by high-speed rail Business Class. The journey took only 14 minutes, with a ticket price of 58 RMB, about 8 USD. Deqing Station is not very large, but it has a VIP lounge available for certain bank or platform members. The lounge is simple, offering only basic drinks and snacks, and does not include complimentary pick-up or drop-off services.
When it was time to board, we got on the train, which originated from Qingdao in Shandong Province. The crew members were from the Jinan Railway Bureau, and the train was an advanced Fuxing Smart EMU. Our carriage featured “egg-shell” style Business Class seats, designed for privacy and comfort. Since it was not mealtime, passengers were provided with a box of snacks, a wide selection of beverages, and wet towels. I also requested complimentary headphones, earplugs, and an eye mask, all nicely packaged. The seat could fully recline at the push of a button, with a very comfortable cabin temperature and soft lighting.
Soon, we arrived at Hangzhou West Station. For Business Class passengers, there is a free pre-booked pick-up service.
