Storytellers Collection: The Spalding Gentlemen's Society | A Light-Hearted VR Film On The Founding Of The Society

Storytellers Collection: The Spalding Gentlemen's Society is a 7-minute VR short film exploring lively debates, curious ideas, and vibrant characters of the first gathering of the Spalding Gentlemen's Society. Told with a playful and modern twist, it brings history to life with spirited humour and a nod to contemporary culture. Originally created by MBD during Infinite Museum Year 1 using Motion Capture and Virtual Production, this VR floor has been adapted into a standalone 360° film for broader public release as part of Year 2.

Infinite Museum is a multi-person Virtual Reality experience centred around a time-travelling lift. Developed in collaboration with East Lindsey NPO, Storytellers, the project combines community co-designed content with MBD’s own creative productions. Its modular design allows the Infinite Museum to grow over time, with each new floor adding narrative depth and educational value.
