This 1956 work by the late Kobe-born manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama is set in 1950s Japan and tells the story of a boy detective and villains fighting over a robot that can become either good or evil depending on who holds the remote control.
It is said to have had a strong influence on subsequent works as the original "giant robot."
