"Mount Kanpuzan" (Oga Peninsula-Ogata Geopark) in Akita , JAPAN
At the base of the Oga Peninsula in Akita Prefecture is Mt. Kanpuzan (Oga City, Akita Prefecture), which has an altitude of 355 meters.
The entire mountain is covered with green grass, and you can take the Kanpuzan Panorama Line by car to the rotating observatory at the top of the mountain where there is no obstruction.
From the mountaintop, which offers a 360-degree view, you can see the Oga Peninsula, the reclaimed land of Hachirogata, and the coastline of the Sea of Japan below.
Kanpuzan, a volcano, is known as one of the geosites suitable for geological observation and has been certified as the "Oga Peninsula/Ogata Geopark."
