🌊 Something strange has emerged from the water...

🏗️ Explore one of the most atmospheric parts of Gdańsk — the historic Imperial Shipyard and Młode Miasto — where rusting machines, giant cranes and abandoned industrial structures create an almost post-apocalyptic world.

🤖 At the waterfront, the extraordinary “Castaways” and “Packers” sculptures by Czesław Podleśny look like dieselpunk robots crawling out of the sea. Built from old machinery, scrap metal and industrial remains, they seem perfectly at home among the huge shipyard cranes and weathered docks.

🎨 We also enter the nearby WL4 Art Space, surrounded by raw post-industrial architecture and contemporary art.

🏗️ Then we visit Crane M3, a real historic shipyard crane with a viewing platform more than 30 metres above the ground.

🏭 The journey continues towards Montownia, the monumental former industrial hall once connected with the production of German U-boat components and later used by the Gdańsk Shipyard.

⚙️ Rust, steel, water, giant machines and strange metal creatures turn this place into something between industrial history, contemporary art and a post-apocalyptic dieselpunk world.

☢️ It feels less like a normal city walk and more like exploring the remains of a forgotten civilization after the machines have taken over.
