Japan Aomori Seikan Ferry Memorial Ship Hakkodamaru
Completed in 1964.Before the undersea tunnel was built, trains were also transported to Hokkaido by ferry.Until the opening of the Seikan Tunnel on March 13, 1988.The history of the Seikan Ferry began with the Hirafu Maru, which went into service as a railroad ferry in 1908 (Meiji 41).
The greatest attraction of the Seikan Ferry is its "car deck" where cargo cars are loaded, and it is extremely rare in the world for railroad cars to cross the ocean on board the ship.
