he Gulangyu Organ Museum is located in the Bagua Tower in the northwest of Gulangyu Island. It is the only and the largest organ museum in China and even in the world. The museum houses more than 70 precious ancient organs from all over the world. The largest one is more than 6 meters high, while the smallest one is only as big as a suitcase. Among them, the most eye-catching is the giant pipe organ "Casavant", which is 13 meters high, 12.5 meters wide and weighs 35 tons. It has 7,451 pipes and 133 stops, looking magnificent. The building of the organ museum was invested by the wealthy merchant Lin Heshou and designed by John U. Baker, integrating various architectural styles. The decoration style of the museum adopts Gothic-style beams and colored glass, echoing the church style of the pipe organ. Here, visitors can not only admire the exquisite organ collections, but also listen to the regularly held organ concerts and experience the unique charm of organ music.
