New: AI passthrough!

This amazing Deo feature uses the power of AI to turn every VR scene into AR passthrough! Now you can take characters out of VR and have them right there with you - as if they were in the same room.

Notice: AI Passthrough is presently in beta mode, and as such, users may encounter occasional service imperfections. The feature is currently exclusive to the DeoVR app, but it will soon be accessible on both browsers and mobile devices. Your feedback is highly encouraged and appreciated.

Recommended headsets:

Meta Quest 3, and Quest Pro with stereoscopic color passthrough, Pico 4 (monoscopic color passthrough).

Compatible headsets:

Quest 2, Valve Index (monoscopic black and white passthrough).

Passthrough is not compatible yet for Oculus Link cable.

In search of dynamic landscapes, I climbed Mount Yari in the Northern Alps. Recently, after several failed attempts, I finally figured out the exposure settings for 8K, 60 frames per second, and C-Log3, so testing that was a secondary goal for this trip.

Since I was climbing a 3,000-meter peak, I wanted to keep the gear as light as possible. However, for time-lapse shooting, a stable tripod is essential to avoid any shake. It was a tough balance, but this time I chose the Ulanzi Falcam TreeRoot Quick Lock Travel Tripod R141K-320P. While its lightweight and compactness were great, it lacked the rigidity needed for VR shooting in the strong winds of high-altitude environments. Next time, I’ll bring a slightly heavier medium-sized tripod. For the starry sky time-lapse, I extended just one section of the TreeRoot tripod’s legs and attached a KANI stone bag to add weight. I placed it on a large rock by the stream, away from the ridgeline. Fortunately, there was no shake during the 8-hour shoot.

① Shooting
I shot in a stream just below the Yari-ga-take mountain hut. Ideally, I would have wanted to face south, but since the stream was southeast-facing, I shot facing southeast. The peak of Yari-ga-take is visible on the left edge of the screen, and Mount Fuji is also faintly visible towards the center-right.

Exposure settings: F2.8 / ISO2000 / 30 seconds.
